Global Financial Crisis of 2008
The global financial crisis, brewing for a while, really started to show its effects in the middle of 2008. Around the world stock markets have fallen, large financial institutions have collapsed or been bought out, and governments in even the wealthiest nations have had to come up with rescue packages to bail out their financial systems.
Inflation in IndiaThe very high rates of inflation in the recent months have become a major poll plank for the opposition parties. These parties opine that the inflation can be contained by the ruling government by its fiscal and monetary policies irrespective of fluctuations in the international oil prices. But scientific analysis say that India depends very excessively on imported oil and whenever the OPEC(organization of petroleum exporting countries) decides to reduce the production of oil the supply too comes down and thus rise in the international oil prices.
