Uma pesquisa realizada pelo Datafolha apontou que 50% da população brasileira são favoráveis às cotas raciais nas universidades públicas do país, enquanto 34% são contra, 12% não sabem e 3% são indiferentes. O índice chega a ser de 60% entre pessoas que têm filhos matriculados em escolas particulares, justamente a parte da população que não se beneficia dessa política pública.
