Are We in a Recession?
Not if you listen to the president and his advisors. Yes if you ask businesses and consumers. As I drive in South Florida in the peak of the season and see shopping malls parking half empty, and (For Lease) signs on every corner overshadowed by (Going out of Business) banners. When I talk to business owners in every state and 90% of them are worried about the economy and more than half are not sure about their future. When I see (Bank Foreclosures) taking up more than half of the newspaper, I can’t help but to think we’re in trouble. No worries, the rebate checks are in the mail. It is insulting to think that $300 checks will make a dent, save someone’s home or business. $.10 drop in the price of gas will have much bigger impact.
