Globalization of various types of markets, i.e. products, services, or financial markets can be characterized by various scale and dynamics, although most clearly it can be observed on the financial markets. It is stimulated by the huge scale of capital being transferred worldwide through the rapidly growing intermediary institutions, e.g., investment funds.

Most people in the US, at least the well-educated ones, have some personal theories or very strong opinions when it comes to economics. Those who work in a union often feel that the corporations take advantage of their workers trying to squeeze every little drop of labor out of them. Thus, they feel it is their personal responsibility to stand up to the corporation they believe is taking advantage of them.
